Principal's Message
Dear Westwood Elementary School Community,
Welcome to the 2025–26 school year at Westwood Elementary! I am excited to begin another year of learning, growth, and community with all of you. This year, our focus is on The ROAD and the ways it connects to our Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS) framework.
At Westwood, The ROAD guides our shared expectations for students, staff, and families:
- Respectful and Responsible
- Other People Mindset
- Accountable for Actions
- Demonstrate Gratitude
These values provide students with a clear path for how to treat themselves, others, and their learning. When students follow The ROAD, they not only strengthen their academic success but also build the character and relationships that will carry them forward in life.
Through PBIS, our staff will continue to teach, model, and recognize positive behaviors aligned with The ROAD. Students will be celebrated for making respectful choices, showing empathy for others, taking responsibility, and expressing gratitude. Together, we are creating a school culture that is safe, supportive, and encouraging for every child.
Of course, academics remain at the heart of what we do. Our educators are committed to challenging, engaging instruction that meets the needs of each learner. Pairing academic rigor with The ROAD ensures that our students grow not only as scholars but also as caring, responsible individuals.
Your partnership is key in this work. By reinforcing The ROAD at home—whether by encouraging accountability, celebrating acts of gratitude, or modeling respect—you help extend our positive school culture into the broader community. Together, we can empower every student to stay on The ROAD to success.
I look forward to the year ahead and the many opportunities we will share to learn, grow, and celebrate our students’ achievements. Here’s to a joyful and successful 2025–26 school year!
In Partnership,
Bill Egan
